- Chapito
(in Spanish) - Located in the historical center of Lisbon, Colectividade
Cultural e Recreativa de Santa Catarina widely known as Chapitô assumes
itself as a pluridisciplinary place, where it is developed a global
project of artistic and social-cultural intervention in the areas of
education, urban entertainment and youth socialization. The circus arts
are at in the origin of this project, which explains its artistic name (Chapiteau,
means tent). Working in these three fields - social action, formation and
cultural creation and divulgation - Chapitô is based on
multidisciplinarity, multiculturalism and exchange of experiences between
young people and adults. It is a crossing of cultures and people from
different social background. The idea of Circus, entertainment and show,
connects these fields and gathers everybody who is working to keep this
Project running. The assumption of cultural entertainment as a link to
reality, allows an imaginative experimentation, giving the chance to young
people and adults to see through the limits imposed by the daily routine.

Foundation for Music Research (IFMR) was founded in 1997 to support
scientific research to explore the relationship between music and physical
and emotional wellness, with particular attention to the elderly
population, the impact of music making on at-risk youth, and music
education and the effect of music and music making. IFMR also convenes
scientists, educators and others around critical issues in music research
and disseminates research through its publication, IFMR News, and various
on-line research referral services and archives.
